Congratulations PAL Charter Academy Graduates!

​We can’t begin to explain how proud we are of all the hard work and dedication that you’ve put in to fulfill your graduation requirements. We are excited that you’ll be participating in the 2023-2024 High School Graduation.

The High School Ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, June 6th, 2024, and will take place between 6:00-8:00 pm, at San Bernardino Valley College, 701 S Mt Vernon Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92410. Doors will open between 5:00 – 5:30 pm.

Cap and Gowns are $50.00 and can be purchased from the main office. Graduation Ticket information will be announced soon.

Graduation is approaching and we are so proud of all our students! 

High School

Graduation Rehearsal is TOMORROW, June 5th at 2:30 P.M. If you are planning to walk across the stage at graduation then you MUST attend graduation rehearsal at San Bernardino Valley College.

The 2024 High School Graduation will take place on Thursday, June 6th at San Bernardino Valley College.

Graduating students must arrive by 5:00 PM. 

Please remember, graduating students cannot have cell phones, flowers, leis, or anything of that nature during the ceremony. Guests will be allowed inside at 5:30 PM. The commencement ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 PM. No balloons, confetti, noisemakers, silly string, horns, signs, or anything of that nature will be allowed inside the venue. Also please leave strollers and car seats in your vehicle as there is limited space in the auditorium.

Guests are more than welcome to take pictures and video during the commencement ceremony.

Scholarship Awards

The Dr. Mildred Dalton Henry Scholarship is a $2,000.00 scholarship awarded to a college enrollee who has overcome multiple barriers, demonstrated positive leadership qualities, helped other students and shown initiative and determination to succeed. The recipient must enter postsecondary education or become an enterprising entrepreneur engaged in positive pursuits.

The Ms. Alma Dalton-Gates Scholarship is a $1,000.00 scholarship awarded to a college enrollee who enrolls in college and will enter the teaching profession. Ms. Dalton-Gates, the mother of Dr. Henry, was a public school teacher in excess of 60 years. Recipients must show proof of enrollment and attendance for one quarter to qualify for the post-secondary scholarships.  

The Dr. Ulysses Grant Dalton Scholarship is a $1,000.00 scholarship awarded to a college enrollee who enrolls in college, preferably in music, and has demonstrated positive leadership qualities. Dr. Dalton, brother of Dr. Henry, was a Professor of Music and a university band director for many years. Recipients must show proof of enrollment and attendance for one quarter to qualify for the post-secondary scholarships.

The Mrs. Pamela Jeanne Hampton-Ross Scholarship is $1,000.00 scholarship awarded student who preferably pursues a career in the medicaland enrolls in an accredited medical training program. Ms. Hampton-Ross was a victim of lupus and held degrees in Speech Therapy and the Health Sciences. Ms. Hampton-Ross, daughter of Dr. Henry, was an entrepreneur and Rehabilitation Specialist. Recipients must show proof of enrollment and attendance for one quarter to qualify for the post-secondary scholarships. 

The Mrs. Virginia Mae Radden Scholarship is a $1,000.00 awarded to a graduating senior who will be pursuing a career in Technology or Vocational training. Mrs. Radden passed away at the age of forty-two from cancer. She loved to tinker with Technology, but due to her death she was unable to pursue her love for Technology. Ms. Radden is the mother of Coach Dwaine Radden. 

The Mrs. Belva Holder Scholarship This $300 scholarship is awarded to a graduate who overcame significant barriers to graduate and will continue to strive for future accomplishments. A member of numerous organizations,  Mrs. Holder was an elementary school teacher for 65 years, and was Secretary of the Board of Directors for Provisional Educational Services, Incorporated, and the PAL Center, since inception in 1984 to 2015.

The Marion Black, Jr Scholarship is to be awarded to two graduates with aspirations of 1) going into the Air Force ($500.00) and 2) a college of their choice (ROTC program) ($1,500,00).  Each student demonstrates positive leadership qualities, some community service in the Inland Empire, and has shown initiative and determination to succeed with a 2.5 G.P.A or higher. Marion Black retired as an Officer (Major) in the United States Air Force and his officer status was due to obtaining a college degree.  Having served in the military led to his leadership abilities in community service.  One of such services was as a Board Member on the Provisional Educational Services, Inc. dba the PAL Center and Charter Academy. 

The Kevin Cowen Scholarship $350- awarded to any student who pursues a degree in Addiction Studies or related studies in this field. Kevin was the nephew of the Executive Director, Dwaine Radden Sr. Kevin departed at the age of 39 due to his addiction struggles.

The Melinda Joyce Radden scholarship $1,000- awarded to any student who pursues a degree in Psychology or any related studies to the field. Melinda passed at 57. She was the wife of Dwaine Radden Sr. the Executive Director of PAL Charter Academy. Her struggles with “iatrophobia” ultimately led to her passing.

The Melvin Radden Scholarship $500- awarded to any student that pursues a college degree in Criminal Justice, or any field pertaining to Law Enforcement. He was the father of Mr. Radden, the Executive Director of PAL Charter Academy. Melvin Radden worked as a Corrections Officer for the city of New York for over 40 years.
